Doug Truax, President
Prior to founding Veritas Risk Services, Doug was employed at one of the largest brokerage and consulting firms in the country where he was the business development manager for the Chicago office. While in this role, he also maintained client management responsibility for a number of key clients, providing expertise in all aspects of employee benefit plan management including cost management, plan design, strategic service initiatives, and coordination of internal and external support systems. Previously, he opened and then managed the Chicago office of a nationwide recruiting firm, working with human resource departments from small private firms to Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of search assignments. Earlier in his career, after graduating from West Point, Doug served six years as a U.S. Army officer, honorably resigning his commission as a Captain. While in the Army, he held various positions such as company executive officer, platoon leader, and aide-de-camp to a general officer, and graduated from Ranger and Airborne schools. He has earned the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Doug and his family are very involved with Almost Home Kids, SAFE Families, and CareNet of Dupage County.
Bob Walsh, Executive Vice President
After studying economics and sociology at the University of Illinois, he began his career in sales for a regional telecommunications firm. He then did something he said he’d never do and joined his family’s insurance agency (property/casualty & employee benefits) in 1989. During his tenure, the agency doubled in size twice. He then sold his equity stake in that business and founded his own firm, Benefits to Benefit, Inc., an employee benefits and property/casualty brokerage and consulting firm serving small and medium sized businesses. This venture grew rapidly enjoying double digit growth every year since its start in 1999. He then joined forces with his friend and new partner (Doug Truax) and changed the face of his company renaming it: Veritas Risk Services, LLC in late 2007. They committed themselves to creative and innovative ways to help a flailing industry one client-partner at a time. Veritas has enjoyed explosive growth serving middle market companies across the Country. Bob is a Chartered Benefit Consultant (CBC™) and stays active in the legislative concerns of the health insurance industry. He lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with his wife and four children and is active in his church and several charities; two of his favorites being Young Life and the American Cancer Society.
